This is a must-visit spot if you’re looking for lunch around Kusatsu. All of their dishes are 100% handmade, and everything tastes fresh, healthy, and beautifully prepared. The service can be a little slow, but it’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy a calm, enriching meal, so it actually adds to the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. FYI: CASH ONLY.

My friend brought us here to this charming, cozy & homey restaurant owned by a Japanese couple. We throughly enjoyed the food here. I would highly recommend the pizza and the Tonkatsu set meal. It’s really good. They are friendly with attentive service. Highly recommended!

Good food for good price! Super worth it. I had been in Japan for more than 10 years and had tried karaage in a lot of places, but the karaage here tops my list! Exceptional! and for 500 yen you get a whole plate! I may had been living for so long around Tokyo that I was surprised with the quantity of food for such a price. The place is clean and comfortable and grandpa and grandma running the place is so nice.

The karaage chicken we shared for an appetiser was SO delicious that we ordered another serving of it after we finished our meals. For our second serving, the elderly lady serving it to us told us she added extra chicken for us! Thank you obahan gohan

Super cozy hidden gem!! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. There is an english menu as well :) The food was delicious. The tonkatsu set came with a bunch of side dishes. The 4 beer flight was great too.

This place is incredible! One guy said Tonkatsu was the best ever - I didn't believe him. Then I tried it and can confirm the flavor is out of this world!!! The couple that runs it are also super sweet. They do have an English menu as well .

A sake/alcohol shop that also serves sake by the glass, a great way to try regional sake and even Japanese wines. It’s run by an elderly gentleman who is clearly quite passionate about sake and also vintage records. Hot sake is also available and the they use the thermal water from the area to heat the glasses. Sake by the glass is around 500yen and he gives a very generous overflowing pour. The regional red wine we tried was interest and was more like a white wine with some tannins and red fruit profile but it wasn’t anything we were used to. Each glass order is accompanied with some nuts. The regional sakes are also for sale and they are all very affordable!

I went to this restaurant multiple times during my stay in Kusatsu. They had an additional special menu set by season. The taste was great. The service was delightful.
